Timeless Timber Helps Provide Inspiration for Leading Artists


The studios of some of Britain’s leading artists are to be transformed with the help of BSW Timber.

Britain’s largest sawmilling business has dispatched Timeless Timber to Cove Park artists’ centre in Argyll, Scotland.

The charity, which is currently installing three new accommodation “cubes” and three new studios for artists, required decking for balconies suspended over a pond.

The cubes are imaginative conversions of freight containers, which have been welded together and incorporate a wall of glass to maximise views over the seas and hills.

Cove Park provides residencies for artists of all disciplines from across the UK and abroad. The residencies run from two weeks to three months.

Artists at Cove Park this year include Turner Prize winner Simon Starling and author Margaret Atwood.

In the past three years, Cove Park has worked with a range of organisations including The National Theatre, the Royal Opera House, and artists from China and the Middle East.
